Timber is truly a natural product with no two boards being the same. The colour, grain and markings are all unique and should be appreciated for what they are.

Flooring is manufactured in different grades of appearance and is produced in accordance with the Australian Standards 2796. When purchasing your floor make sure it complies with this Australian Standard.

The three main grades of flooring available are Select grade, Standard grade and Feature grade.

The grading process is a visual one that takes place when the flooring is machined and takes in to consideration the type and size of gum veins, borer or pin holes, knots and surface checking (cracks) etc.

Like many aspects of timber flooring there is no one timber that suits all. While one person may find the feature grade too busy, another will find the select grade too perfect.
